What this specialty covers.

Dentistry and oral surgery treat diseases of the teeth and supporting tissues, restore chewing function and replace missing teeth. Implantology is one of the options that may be considered for certain tooth loss.

Implant rehabilitation is not done over a weekend. Between placement and the final prosthesis, several months of osseointegration are needed, so usually two stays. Offers promising otherwise are leaving a stage out. The treatment plan you receive states the number of appointments, the number of stays and what is fitted at each step.

We plan for them from the start: accommodation, transfers and presence at consultations.

What patients ask us.

Two, as a rule: the first for surgery and a temporary prosthesis, the second for the final prosthesis after several months of osseointegration. Some immediate-loading protocols shorten that, but they do not suit every bone or every case.

A bone graft or sinus lift is then needed before placement, which adds an operation and a healing interval. A CT or cone beam scan allows that to be anticipated: it is among the documents to send with your file.

You leave with the implant brand and reference, the treatment plan and the check radiographs. Any practitioner can take over follow-up and work on the prosthesis from those documents.

Yes, and that order is not negotiable. Active gum disease compromises implants in the medium term. Periodontal treatment therefore comes first, and appears as such in the treatment plan.

Have your file read before you decide.

A doctor reviews it and tells you what is possible, what is not and what it involves. With no commitment on your part.
